The City of Adrian provides a full service water and sewer system within the city limits, only a limited number of water customers are located outside city limits.  In addition, sewer treatment is provided for sewer flows from Adrian Charter Township and Madison Charter Township.  A total of nearly 6500 customers are served.

To provide this service, the city operates a 10 million gallon per day water treatment plant and a 7 million gallon per day wastewater treatment plant.  In addition, the City maintains 75 miles of water mains, 85 miles of sewer collection pipes, 8 sewer lift stations, 2 elevated water storage tanks and a water booster station.

A staff of 40 employees consists of managers, administrators, licensed operators, mechanics and technicians.  Each treatment plant is continuously staffed, and on-call staff responds to emergency situations.

The City’s goal is to provide water and sewer service, meeting all state and federal standards, with affordable rates and a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
