Fire Department

Emergency Medical Service

Training in waterThe Adrian Fire Department has been providing emergency medical services (EMS) for many years.  The firefighters are cross trained in fire and EMS functions.

Currently we have:

  • 5 Paramedics
  • 8 EMT-Specialist
  • 4 EMT’s
  • 1 MFR

In 1994 we upgraded to Limited Advanced Life Support (LALS).  This upgrade in our level of service allowed the firefighters to initiate advanced care on the scene before an ambulance provider arrives.

Last year we had 1643 EMS responses.  That’s approximately 75% of our call volume. The firefighters obtain many hours of training a year to stay current with EMS principles and practices.

Training with a school busThe Adrian Fire Department is committed to delivering high quality pre-hospital care to the citizens and visitors of the city.

If you have any other questions concerning EMS please contact Lieutenant
