Mr. Pardee has served as the City Finance Director since August 2003. Prior to that Mr. Pardee was employed by Oakland County, beginning as Budget Manager in 1976 and concluding 26 years of employment as Director of Management & Budget.
He earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Degree from the University of Detroit in 1971 and Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1968.
Mr. Pardee also attained the prestigious designation of Certified Public Finance Officer (C.P.F.O.) from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada in 2001. Mr. Pardee served with distinction on the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA) Board of Directors from 1992-1997, holding the office of Association President during 1995-96.
He is currently the Association’s State Representative to the National Association. He has also been an advisor to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), the standard setting agency for governmental accounting, in formulation of Statement #44, Economic Condition Reporting: The Statistical Section of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. He has also served with distinction as management’s appointed representative to the Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS). Mr. Pardee also served as a City Councilman for the City of Grand Blanc from 1985-2002.
